Staying in a hotel in the Caribbean is very different from backpacking in North America, so the following tips will help you prepare the perfect suitcase for any destination:
Get the right suitcase or bag
This may be obvious to some travelers, but depending on where you are going and the type of travel you are taking, you may want to take a suitcase, a duffel bag or a backpack.
I use the suitcases when I don’t move much and I have to keep some clothes in shape for the evenings. Shorter trips are also ideal for carrying roller suitcases.
Bigger backpacks that I make for trips of several weeks or longer trips when I know that I will use public transport or drag my things around. Nothing worse than trying to turn a suitcase around the city on a bus or subway or just while looking for Airbnb!

The ideal clothes to put in an ideal suitcase are those that are valid for any occasion. My advice is to choose simple patterns if they are two pieces in combination (for example shirt and trousers).
